PsiQuantum and Brookhaven National Lab Partner to Develop Fault-Tolerant Algorithms on Construct Platform

PsiQuantum, a leading developer of photonic quantum hardware, and the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Brookhaven National Laboratory have announced a strategic partnership to accelerate the development of fault-tolerant quantum algorithms. Under this agreement, Brookhaven researchers will utilize PsiQuantum's open-access software platform, Construct, to design, simulate, and optimize resource requirements for utility-scale quantum workloads. The collaboration aims to address the complexities of mapping scientific problems onto logical qubit architectures while accurately calculating physical resource overheads, such as T-gate counts and error-correction budgets.

This initiative is directly aligned with the DOE’s broader "Quantum Genesis" mission, which aims to deliver scientifically relevant, fault-tolerant quantum computing capabilities by 2028. By bridging the gap between national laboratory research and commercial software engineering, the project serves as a model for public-private integration. The effort is co-led by Gabriella Carini, Associate Laboratory Director for Discovery Technologies at Brookhaven, and Heath Bumgardner, VP of Government Relations at PsiQuantum.
