QC Ware Demonstrates Hybrid Quantum-Classical Chemistry Workflow Using Promethium and IBM Quantum

Quantum software developer QC Ware has successfully conducted a technology demonstration showcasing a hybrid quantum-classical chemistry workflow. This initiative utilizes the company's Promethium platform in conjunction with IBM Quantum hardware to perform advanced computational chemistry tasks.

During the trial, the researchers calculated the electrostatic interaction energy for nitric oxide reductase, a complex metalloenzyme system with significant implications for materials science, catalysis, and drug discovery. The process combined GPU-accelerated classical modeling via Promethium with quantum measurements executed on IBM's 156-qubit Heron superconducting quantum processor.

According to QC Ware, the Promethium platform's GPU-native architecture can execute electronic structure calculations up to 20 times faster than conventional software. While this demonstration effectively highlights Promethium's capacity to serve as an integration layer for quantum hardware, the company clarified that this hybrid execution capability is currently a technical proof-of-concept rather than a commercial product feature. Looking ahead, the company plans to continue refining its hybrid algorithms to leverage utility-scale quantum processors as hardware gate fidelities improve.
